Insights for marbled paper?

I've been wanting to experiment with a new craft and thought this would be the perfect time to try my hand at marbled paper. I know there are different techniques and materials out there, but I'd love to hear from those who have done it before. Any favorite methods, tutorials, or little tricks that make the process easier? would appreciate suggestions, advice or even a potential partner in crime ? lol

i tried marbled paper a few times and really enjoy it! my favorite method is using acrylic paints mixed with a bit of water on a tray of shallow water just swirl with a stick and lay the paper on top. its simple and the results are always unique. a trick i learned is to add a drop of dish soap to the paint. it helps it spread better. for tutorials, i also check youtube there are lots of clear ones there.

I hope I'm not too late to the party! Anyway, the traditional Suminagashi method should be a great introduction! Check out Youtube tutorials on "Suminagashi marbling." It's basically ink and water, and a trick I learned was to gently breathe on the water's surface to help spread the ink!

Cool! Acrylics, water, and dish soap work great, I've done it too! Suminagashi is so relaxing and pretty. Are you thinking of doing bright patterns or calm swirls first? I'd love to know what you will do!

I decided to give suminagashi a try one rainy weekend. All I used was some black ink, water, and a bit of breath to make it flow. Honestly, it was surprisingly calming, and the patterns turned out way better than I thought they would for my first attempt. You should definitely give it a shot, there's no pressure involved, it's part art and part surprise
