Book binding books for beginner?

I've recently developed a strong interest in making my own books and even got my own press. YouTube videos have been a great help, but now I'm looking for book recommendations with clear and easy to understand illustrations from experienced bookbinders, anyone with suggestions?

@mumbojumbo i just started bookbinding too. i found "the bookbinding handbook" by sue doggett really helpful. it has simple steps and clear pictures. good luck with your press!

lol been there, done that, It's peaceful work, I have 2 recos for you, Books, Boxes and Portfolios by Franz Zeier Bookbinding: A Step by Step Guide by Kathy Abbott, both homely books with simple UI, that feeling like someone patient is walking you through.

Franz Zeier really has good bookbinding guides! Another one from his is Bookbinding: A Complete Step-by-Step Guide. If you're looking for a classic offering solid foundation on traditional methods, you can also check out The Thames and Hudson Manual of Bookbinding by Arthur Johnson.

Hey, you have good recommendations here! A friend showed me a book recently titled something like "Non-Adhesive Binding: Books Without Paste or Glue" by Keith Smith. I think it's worth looking into, even I got intrigued!
